Adding free M$ Fonts to X

Added freely distributable M$ fonts to X/Linux by doing the following:

1) apt-get install msttcorefonts
2) cd /usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts
3) ttmkfdir

Follow following instructions gotten from http://www.paulandlesley.org/linux/debian_tt.html:

4) head -1 fonts.scale > fonts.dir
5) tail +2 fonts.scale | tac >> fonts.dir
6) cp fonts.dir fonts.scale
7) cd /etc/init.d
8) ./xfs restart
9) restart X
10) xfontsel (see new fonts available to X, ie. ariel).

2/22/06 UPDATE (Mepis 2.4-3): This no longer works – you need to do 1 and 2, then copy the old files in usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/ and then do ttmkfdir (which generates lots of warnings), then do steps 4-10.
